The aim of the project

is to improve the financial insurance provisions for the activities in Annex III of the Environmental Liability Directive (ELD) 2004/35/EC through the implementation of environmental risk assessment. On the basis of this assessment, further financial security instruments will be produced or developed to identify, prevent and remedy environmental damage

The main objectives that the project wishes to fulfil are:

strengthening the development of financial instruments for environmental responsibility


strengthening the response to environmental damage and the application of the polluter-pays principle, and improving methods of remediation.

the development and implementation of a national plan for the effective implementation of environmental responsibility


improving the implementation of national legislation on environmental liability



the development of risk analysis and the implementation of financial security for the restoration of environmental damage

informing public administration officials responsible for implementing environmental responsibility, as well as stakeholders and the public.
